The Department is a structural unit of the DSUJ of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, providing educational process, educational, methodological, research work and other activities in the field of criminal and penal enforcement law, criminology.
The Department graduates students according to the program of training fields 40.03.01 Jurisprudence (criminal law profile) and 40.04.01 Jurisprudence, program "Criminal law and process, forensics in law enforcement".
DEPARTMENT MISSION:
Formation and satisfaction of intellectual, scientific, educational and moral needs of the individual, society and the state. The Department focuses its efforts on promoting high-quality training of highly professional specialists and scientific personnel, who are capable of setting and solving urgent scientific and socio-economic problems, and actively participating in the development of Russia's legal system.
Training of highly qualified specialists who are able to work effectively in the field of justice and the execution of criminal penalties. We strive to develop scientific research in the field of criminology, study the causes of crime and its prevention, master modern methods of managing institutions of the penal system, digitalization of law enforcement processes, as well as put into practice the capabilities of artificial intelligence.
The department focuses on the integration of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, actively interacting with law enforcement agencies, penal institutions and scientific organizations. We aim to educate students about legal awareness, respect for human rights and ethical standards, as well as develop their critical thinking and analytical abilities.
TASKS OF THE DEPARTMENT:
- creation of conditions for the development of a level model for training legal personnel, the introduction of professional standards in areas of activity;
- training and education of lawyers who are capable, on the basis of fundamental knowledge and the necessary practical training, of making a significant contribution to the development of science, education and law, who participate in continuous self-education and advanced training, and who respond flexibly to changes in the needs of society;
- organization and implementation at a high level of educational and scientific-methodological work in one or several related disciplines;
- scientific research on the profile of the department;
- carrying out its activities by modern methods adopted in world practice in its profile, in order to maximize meeting the requirements of the current level of education.
